How to Pass The Life Insurance Medical Exam

While there isn't much you can do to hide medical conditions such as diabetes, you will be happy to know that there are a few steps you can take in order to make sure you get the best results possible from your life insurance medical examination.

These include:

  1. Avoid foods containing poppy seeds, such as certain types of bagels and muffins, prior to the test
  2. Avoid eating for at least 8 hours before the test - going for 12 hours is even better
  3. Drink plenty of water throughout the day before the test as well as the day of the test
  4. Avoid drinking tea, coffee and other caffeinated drinks for 24 hours before the test
  5. If you use tobacco products, avoid using them for 24 hours before the test
  6. Avoid consuming alcoholic beverages for at least 24 hours before the test
  7. Avoid using nasal decongestants for 24 hours before the test
  8. Get plenty of sleep the night before the test
  9. Schedule the appointment at a time (mornings are best) and place where you will feel the least stressed
  10. Don't exercise for 24 hours before the test

Don't Want To Submit To A Medical Exam

There are life insurance policies that do not require a medical exam. They are often called Guaranteed Issue Policies or No Medical Exam Policies.

They do not have high benefits - usually around $20,000, but are great to cover funeral costs and similar final expenses.
